HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Upload your files (MOV., MP4, AVI., WMV.) to the Client Portal with your unique login and password.

Step 2: CapsOn will transcribe, caption and complete a thorough quality control process.

Step 3: CapsOn will then deliver the close-captioned footage to its final destination. If you so choose, you can have a final version (and a transcription document) sent to you via email or shared via the Client Portal.

And that’s it!

FCC Regulations (The Fine Print)

According to the Federal Communications Commission, “rules for TV closed captioning ensure that viewers who are deaf and hard of hearing have full access to programming, address captioning quality and provide guidance to video programming distributors and programmers.”

Captions are required to be:

Exact.  Transcribed words must match the words that are spoken, without picking up any additional background audio or noise.

Synchronized. Captions must align with the words that are being spoken and shown on the screen in a timely fashion that can be read by viewers.

Placed properly. Transcribed dialogue shouldn’t obscure or overlap any other important content that must be seen on the screen.

Thorough. From beginning to end, captions must run for the complete duration of the program.
